The goal of the Room Parent Program is to provide the teacher with a reliable person to solicit and delegate assistance for class events and programs.
Included in the Room Parents responsibilities are the following:
· Meet with the teacher about the needs they may have and how you can help. (Specifics to each teacher as well as class party planning).
· Send a letter in Wednesday folders (or via e-mail) introducing yourself to class parents.
· Ensure that class contact list for PTA Directory is complete, and create class e-mail list for yourself.
· Coordinate silent auction basket for Fall Carnival. (Or delegate the responsibility to another parent).
· Help the teacher recruit volunteers for the library, computer, and other classroom activities.
· Organize and attend all classroom parties or delegate a person to fill in for you.
· Welcome new families to the class throughout the year with a welcome letter and/or phone call.
