President:

Coordinates the work of the officers and committees to promote the goals and objectives of the PTA. Plans agendas and presides at board and membership meetings. Works with the executive board to identify and appoint the parliamentarian, committee chairs, and the audit committee. Has check-signing authority on bank accounts (all checks require 2 signatures). Represents Parkside Elementary PTA at the Leander Council of PTAs and attends Council PTA meetings and other events. Ensures that necessary reporting deadlines are met. Communicates with school administration, PTA members, and others outside the PTA as questions, requests, or issues arise. Attends other official functions as representative of the PTA. This position is voted in by the PTA general membership.

1st Vice President of Membership:

Serves as an aide to the president.  Oversees the membership drive at the beginning of the school year and limited ongoing member recruitment. Manages collection of member information and submission of membership reports to the Texas PTA (with the assistance of the secretary and treasurer). Works with other committee chairs as necessary to build membership. This position is voted in by the PTA general membership.
 
2nd Vice President of Fundraising:
Oversees existing PTA fundraising activities and identifies new fundraising possibilities. This person is in charge of fall and spring fundraisers; ordering and selling spirit gear; managing Box Tops collections; arranging spirit nights with local restaurants and stores. This position is voted in by the PTA general membership.
 
3rd Vice President of Publicity:
Oversees all publicity, including distribution of meeting notices, PTA event notices, social media and PTA website. Responsible for compiling/producing the newsletter. Updates bulletin board. This position is voted in by the PTA general membership.
 
4th Vice President of Programs:
Oversees existing PTA programs and identifies new program possibilities. Supports event chairs as needed. May be called upon to lead a program. This position is voted in by the PTA general membership.
 
Secretary:
Records the minutes of all PTA board and general meetings. Assists with PTA correspondence, and keeps a record of PTA business correspondence received. Maintains a current copy of the bylaws, as well as a list of officers (including a record of their training completed). Maintains a current membership list as well as a calendar of events for the PTA. This position is voted in by the PTA general membership.
 
Treasurer:
Has custody of the PTA funds and keeps books of accounts and financial records including bank statements, receipts, budgets, invoices, paid receipts and canceled checks. Makes disbursements for approved expenses in accordance with the budget. Is an authorized person to sign checks. Maintains detailed budget files, presents financial reports at PTA general and board meetings, including a full financial report at the annual meeting. Files necessary reports and payments for tax and other purposes (e.g., sales tax, insurance, etc.).    Presents books to the audit committee as requested. This position is voted in by the PTA general membership.
 
Parliamentarian:
Advises the presiding officer on questions of parliamentary procedure. Votes when the vote is by ballot. This position is appointed by the PTA President subject to Executive Board approval.
 
Volunteer Chair:
Works as a liaison between the Executive Board and the school; seeks volunteers when needed for all school and PTA events; attends monthly VC district meetings; collects volunteer hours and reports to the district; plans volunteer appreciation events. This position is appointed by the PTA President subject to Executive Board approval.
 
Room Parent Coordinator:
Will appoint a lead/or co homeroom parent for each teacher and facilitate communication between PTA, LISD, parents, and teachers to support teachers and staff throughout the year. Assists with teacher favorite's list compilation. This position is appointed by the PTA President subject to Executive Board approval.
 
Teacher Appreciation Chair:
Plans activities and events each month to show appreciation to teachers and staff; will hold a luncheon during teacher training; will make notice of teacher birthdays. Spearheads Teacher Appreciation Week annually. This position is appointed by the PTA President subject to Executive Board approval.
 
Diversity Chair:
Develop outreach opportunities to increase the diversity of PTA leadership & membership; plan and execute a multicultural program; help advertise relevant district events and activities. This position is appointed by the PTA President subject to Executive Board approval.
 
Inclusion Chair:
Leads a committee of interested individuals; plans Inclusion Week annually; organize Kids First event or something similar; coordinate parent education events and workshops; help advertise relevant events& district activities. This position is appointed by the PTA President subject to Executive Board approval.
